I am often asked the question, “How fast can you get me reinstated?” This comes from one of my many potential clients who have been revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol in Illinois. The answer is similar for all of them…
If you have been arrested for one DUI in Illinois or outside the State of Illinois, you will be eligible for an informal hearing with the Illinois Secretary of State. You will need to have all of the necessary paperwork from a licensed evaluator showing that you performed all of the recommended treatment. This treatment needs to be consistent with the number of DUI arrests and the facts of your case.
The same is true when you have more than one DUI conviction. You still need to apply for a hearing and have all of the treatment documents ready. IF all of the treatment documents are available the following ballpark timeline applies…
Informal Hearing… No wait for appointment time; approximately 60-90 day wait time for answer from Secretary of State.
Formal Hearing… 40 day wait time for hearing; 35 day wait for result. Total time approximately 75-80 days.
